Lotus Elan +2 Sprint Car
Lotus Elan +2 1973 M reg.
Car is configured to run the road going class in sprint and hillclimb events, but could be used for many motorsport events, or just as a road and show car. Still has all the carpets and curtains fitted for the road class. Standard Big valve motor on Dellorto's. Four speed car. New MSA spec. plumbed in extinguisher last year. Rev counter with shift light, internal fire and electrical pulls. New front mounted electric fuel pump. Bucket seats with four point belts, plus original belts for road use. Nice OMP steering wheel, rear roll cage with seat belt bar. Removable front and rear tow straps and timing strut. Met green paint. Has a few very minor scratches and hairline cracks as any race car would have, but very smart overall appearance. Standard chassis which is good throughout and is painted (as in the pic above) not undersealed. It is not a replacement and has Lotus chassis number stamped on it, so can be used in standard road car class and FIA events if required. Standard brakes (except pads) and suspension, again for the road class regulations.
Five Lotus alloys for the road. Will need a set of wheels and tyres for events as they have been stolen from customers garage. Comes with V5 and is tax and MOT exempt.
Car had always been trailered to events and was only put on the road last year. Being offered as a competition car, but fully road legal and on the road, ready to enjoy.
Customer still has the original seats, trim, steering wheel, air box, filter and a few other parts and spares, which were removed when converted.
These will be sold with the car.
As previously noted, the competition wheels and tyres were stolen at the last meeting, so a set will be required for track work, or just fit the new competition tyres to the original wheels.
The photos are pretty much as the car is now apart from the addition of door mirrors and the odd sticker here and there.

Car is currently with us and can be viewed daily in office hours. Has never been used in the winter and does not appear to have any repaired crash damage.
Good fun class winning sprint and climb car.
Just fitted with brand new ATB LSD., bearings and seals.
If unsold it will be used for sprints this season.
Car is road legal and currently on the road, so test runs not a problem.
